Empowering Student Wellbeing

Our Student Wellness Programme, delivered to 6th-year students at Balbriggan and Blanchardstown Libraries in 2024, introduced a range of techniques to help students manage stress, enhance focus, and build self-confidence. Activities included mindfulness exercises, discussions on nutrition and self-care, and practical methods for calming the nervous system. Students also explored how to embrace and maintain personal self-care routines to support their well-being in school and beyond.

The programme received overwhelmingly positive feedback, with students sharing how it improved their ability to handle challenges, communicate effectively, and maintain calmness in stressful situations.

One participant reflected, “I’d love the programme to continue. I’ve learned a lot of new things,” while others highlighted the value of tools like time management and paying attention to their bodies.

The facilitators were also praised for their inspiring and supportive approach, with one student remarking, “Lovely teachers. Really taught me a lot and inspired me.”

With its lasting impact on students' well-being and resilience, the programme has proven to be a powerful resource for helping young people thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
